This week we feature a few hints and tips on 1942
 
Optimisation
 
If your PC is a little sluggish whilst playing 1942 heres a few handy console commands to try:
 
To activate the console press the (~) tilde key.
 
Then type:
 
renderer.mipMapBias 13
 
Description: The mipmap bias variable sets the texture detail level therefore allowing you to improve your FPS.
 
renderer.allowAIIRefreshRates 1
renderer.setVSyncEnable 0 0
 
Description: Turning off Vsync increase your FPS
 
TNT jumping
(Only performed when friendly fire is 0%)
Place 4 Exp-Packs in a T formation and stand at the thin end of the T. Jump just before you blow them up to fly really far forward. For more vertical lift then the + formation is for you.
 
Wing Walk
Just jump on to the wing while another player takes off. You have to creep forward every now and then to stay on the wing.

ACCESSING THE CONSOLE

To access the console in Battlefield 1942, you need to use the " ~ " tilde key located above the TAB key.  This drops down your console (in game) where you can enter the commands listed below:

The Second Week's installment is all about the Theatre's of War.
 
Battlefield 1942 features 4 war fronts and spans 16 battles on two sides of the war, Axis and Allied.
 
The Pacific
 
The Pacific Theatre involves the war that Japan incited upon the Allied forces.  Based after the Pearl Harbour attack the Japanese forces will try and maintain the momentum of its earlier successes  and try to gain a quick victory in the Pacific.  The U.S. forces will have to regroup fast and digin for what promises to be a long and bloddy battle against a ruthless enemy.  Every battle here is vital to winning the war!!
 
North Africa
 
Ah, the desert terrain!  Sand in the wheels and dust in the air. The army to overcome here will have to defeat a well prepared and dug-in enemy.  Blistering heat and hotter shells are only two of the dangers in the North African Desert. Maintaining supply lines here is key, or, you can just roll over your enemy in a tankfest of bloody mayhem!!
 
Eastern Europe
 
Here in Eastern europe the German military expected to roll over and crush the Russian army in just a short few months.  Here in  this campaign was one of the most historically significant battles of the war.  They say Hitler made his biggest mistake by attacking Stalingrad, can you prove the history books wrong?  250,000 German troops went in and only 6,000 returned home after the war. Blood and Guts, it's right here!
 
Western Europe
 
Here, with final and utter victory in sight the Allies begun Operation Overlord, the final push towards Berlin.  From the beginnings of a Normandy beach invasion the Allies dug in for the push to Berlin.  If the Germans can withstand the Allies at any point here then the ending of the war could be swung in favour of the Third Reich!!  Only grim determination and balls of steel will win through!
